What guests say

"I had an incredible experience doing my very first via ferrata with BOA! As a solo participant, I couldn't have asked for a better guide. She was super friendly, extremely patient, and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the entire trip. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and to top it all off, the communication and organization beforehand were flawless. There is honestly nothing to criticize, just a huge thank you for the wonderful guidance. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to book with them again!"

"My two sons and I enjoyed a wonderful tour with Bosnia Outdoor Adventures. We chose the evening tour, so at the end we had a beautiful view over Sarajevo. The guide picked us up near our apartment and drove us to the start. The guides were professional in explaining the equipment and how to climb, and took their time for the climbing and for enjoying the surroundings along the way. Back at the car a picnic table and folding chairs are set up and you're treated to traditional Bosnian coffee and something sweet. In short, a fantastic adventure with sport, nature and Bosnian hospitality in the leading roles. Thanks a lot!"

Route & suitability

180 metres of cable and 90 metres of height gain on the white cliffs of Trebević, directly above the city. Fifteen minutes to walk in, roughly 45 minutes climbing, graded B/C. The line starts in beech forest and comes out onto open limestone, so you get shade for the first half and Sarajevo's rooftops below you for the second.

Best for

  • Active guests with good basic fitness, a head for heights, and comfort moving on uneven approach terrain.
  • Guests who want a guided climbing-style route with proper technical equipment and coaching.

Not ideal for

  • Guests with a severe fear of heights who do not want exposed cable-protected terrain.
  • Guests who need flat paths only or prefer minimal walking effort.

Tell us honestly about your comfort with heights before booking Via Ferrata Trebević. The best ferrata day starts with the right route, fitted gear, and a calm briefing before the first cable.
