About BOA – Bosnia Outdoor Adventures
A local guiding team connecting travelers with the mountains around Sarajevo, Mostar, and across Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Mission
Safe, small-group adventures on the Dinaric Alps. We combine alpine standards with Bosnian hospitality and flexible private departures.
We believe the best adventures happen in small groups with local guides who know every ridge, every weather pattern, and every mountain hut owner by name. That's the BOA difference.
Where we operate
We operate from Sarajevo for quick access to Trebević, Bjelašnica, Visočica, Lukomir, and other central Bosnia routes, while our Herzegovina base supports days around Mostar, Blagaj, Stolac, and Prenj. That setup lets us run everything from short half-day outings to longer multi-day traverses across Bosnia & Herzegovina with local logistics, flexible meeting points, and route choices that match the season and the group.

What to expect between the first message and the drive home
Most guests reach us on WhatsApp before they book. Tell us your dates, where you are staying, how many of you there are, and what you have done before, and we will say plainly which routes fit and which ones do not. If a tour is wrong for your group, we would rather move you to a better one than sell you the day you asked for.
Meeting points are flexible. From Sarajevo we can usually collect you in the city centre, and transport to the trailhead is included on most tours, which matters on routes like Lukomir or the Neretva where public transport is not a realistic option. Briefings are given in English or Bosnian, and on technical ground the group stays small enough that everyone gets hands-on coaching at the exposed sections rather than a demonstration from a distance.
What comes with the day depends on the activity. Rafting, canyoning and quad tours include the safety equipment that route needs, so there is nothing extra to arrange. On the via ferrata routes the complete ferrata kit is not part of the tour price and can be rented from us for €20, which keeps the day cheaper for anyone already travelling with their own harness, helmet and lanyard. Whatever you use, it is checked before it goes on and taken out of service when its condition or service life says so. The same gear rental is open to people heading out independently, camping and climbing kit included.
Our team includes certified mountain guides, some of whom are active mountain rescue team members, and route and weather calls are made on the morning rather than fixed weeks ahead. If conditions are wrong we will change the route or reschedule, which happens often enough in the Dinarics to be worth saying out loud.
Groups stay small by design. If you would prefer to go out with only your own party, most routes can be run as a private departure, and we run dedicated options for complete beginners and for families with children. Travellers based in Herzegovina can start from Mostar instead, and anyone short on time can pick from our day trips from Sarajevo.
