An A/B directly above Mostar, and one of the most accessible routes in the country: 10 minutes from the road, 200 metres of cable, 80 metres of vertical, half an hour of climbing.
The low grade and the year-round season — Herzegovina stays mild long after the mountains around Sarajevo have closed — make it the usual introduction to via ferrata in the south. Also known as Đavolje Stepenice.
How we know this
BOA guides climb Fortica regularly. Cable and anchor condition changes. Nothing here is a substitute for checking the route yourself before you climb.
Condition reports
Written by visitors who have climbed Fortica, not by BOA, and not checked by us before they appear. Treat them as one climber’s account on one day — useful, but never clearance to climb.
No condition reports yet. If you have climbed this route, yours would be the first.
