Sokolov Put runs 350 metres of cable up 160 metres of limestone on Romanija, about 28 kilometres east of Sarajevo on the Sokolac road. At B/C it sits in the middle of the Bosnian range — harder than the introductory lines above Mostar, well below the technical routes in western Herzegovina.
The approach is short at roughly 20 minutes, and the climb itself is the long part of the day at around 90 minutes. Budget another 20 minutes to walk off. It is one of the few routes in the country listed as climbable year round, which makes it a common winter option when the higher mountains are out.
How we know this
BOA guides climb Sokolov Put regularly. Cable and anchor condition changes. Nothing here is a substitute for checking the route yourself before you climb.
Condition reports
Written by visitors who have climbed Sokolov Put, not by BOA, and not checked by us before they appear. Treat them as one climber’s account on one day — useful, but never clearance to climb.
