Route & suitability

A full day up the Neretva from Mostar to Sarajevo in a private car with your own guide. You stop at the wrecked railway bridge at Jablanica and the Ottoman bridge in Konjic, then spend the afternoon in Sarajevo: Baščaršija and the Sebilj fountain, the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque, the Latin Bridge and the spot where the First World War began. Come back to Mostar in the evening, or bring your luggage and finish at your Sarajevo accommodation, so the day doubles as your transfer.

Best for

  • Guests based in Mostar who want a day in Sarajevo without driving or joining a bus tour.
  • Travellers moving from Mostar to Sarajevo who would rather sightsee on the way than sit on a bus.

Not ideal for

  • Anyone who doesn't want a long day: the return trip has about five hours of driving.

If Sarajevo is your next stop anyway, take the one-way option. You see Jablanica, Konjic and the old town on the way and arrive at your accommodation in the evening, which is less driving than coming back.

Good to know

  • Price is €180 for one guest and €70 for each additional person, the same whether you return to Mostar or finish in Sarajevo.
  • Going one way? Your luggage rides in the car all day and we drop you at your accommodation in Sarajevo.
  • Entrance tickets and lunch are paid on the day.

Itinerary

  1. Pickup at your accommodation in Mostar
  2. Jablanica: the railway bridge from the Battle of the Neretva
  3. Konjic: coffee by the old stone bridge over the Neretva
  4. Sarajevo: guided walk through Baščaršija, past the Sebilj fountain and the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque
  5. The Latin Bridge, where Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot in 1914
  6. Free time for lunch and coffee in the old town
  7. Drive back to Mostar in the evening, or drop-off at your Sarajevo accommodation
