Bukovik sits in the wooded Skakavac protected area on Sarajevski Ozren. From the trailhead at Uževica, the approach follows the Sedam Vrela path before branching toward Bijela Stijena. The walk to the cable takes about 30 minutes.
The route is a compact grade B, with 105 metres of cable and 70 metres of height gain. Much of the climbing stays in the shade, and a typical crossing takes half an hour. BOA uses it for first-time climbers because the line is short, the clipping rhythm is easy to learn and the terrain remains manageable.
The marked descent rejoins the path near the Sedam Vrela spring in about 30 minutes. Skakavac waterfall and the surrounding hiking trails are close enough to add to the same outing.
