The day
Prenj is the range people mean when they call Herzegovina the Bosnian Himalaya, and Kada hut sits high enough on it to show you why. The walk up is 11 kilometres and 750 metres of climbing, roughly three hours to the hut at a steady pace, through beech forest that opens onto limestone the higher you get. From the top the whole Prenj massif stands in front of you with Čvrsnica across the valley behind it. One fixed date, one price, and whoever signs up walks it together.
